By submitting your application sooner, you help the school gather the data they need to decide whether to admit you while also giving yourself more time to decide which college is right for you.
Every year, the University of Wisconsin-Madison accepts applications starting on August 1. You have the option of applying as a first-year student via the UW System Application or the Common Application.
Applications for the fall and spring terms open on August 1. No particular application is preferred over another. The University of Wisconsin–Madison begins processing applications on September 1.
The following deadlines apply to both international applicants and domestic students.

On the specified due dates, applications and all needed application materials must be submitted to the school by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
It may take up to 72 hours for your submitted application to reflect; an email confirming its receipt will be sent to you the following business day.
There will be no reminder sent to students who submit their applications within five days of the deadline if any materials are still needed.
Early Action carries no legal sway. Although you will be informed of your admissions decision sooner, you won’t be expected to commit until the May 1 national deadline*.

University of Wisconsin–Madison Admission Process
Application assessment is conducted holistically, as admission to UW-Madison is competitive and selective. Admission is denied to applicants who are not competitive for admission.
UW–Madison selects students based on their academic potential who will succeed in their demanding curriculum and who will also provide fresh viewpoints to the school student population.
Essays, extracurricular activities (both inside and outside of the classroom), talents, letters of recommendation, and hobbies are all taken into account when deciding which students could be a good fit for our campus community.
Anyone who wants to enroll at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an undergraduate must fill out an online application.
